Position and Benefits of Gyan Mudra



Our body is made up of the five elements water, air, fir earth and Aakash. All these elements are linked with each other. They all are dependants and they must have to co-ordinate for a proper balance of the body. Same here Gyan Mudra is followed to stimulate the brain power from index finger to brain. It is a yog power that leads the finger to provide energy to brain and expand the memory power. mudra gyan is nothing a very simple mudra performed to stimulate openness, wisdom and expansion.


Why Gyan Mudra?

In electrogramic current you see that fingers reach your current to whole body. Like this index finger stimulates the wisdom to brain through thumb.
·         Index finger helps in increasing air into the body and thereby helps to stimulate the endocroine system.
·         Force to stimulate the root chakra
·         A simple remedy to remove the stress and mental fatigue.

Position of Gyan Mudra

·         Sit in one place properly.
·         Sit straight and put your hands on your knees.
·         Now curve the index finger and give a touch to the tip of thumb.
·         Make a round shape using finger and thumb.
·         Keep other fingers straight.
·         Take a deep breath, out the breath, count your breath.
·         If you want you can enchant “HMMMM” or “OM” while doing this mudra.
·         Or else you can keep silent and do it in the meditation pose.

The mediation pose is good pose to do the Gyan Mudra. In these hectic days everyone needs a power to stimulate the body. Traditionally gyan mudra inspires the brain to authorize the mind. So it enables the mind to increase concerntation power and strengthen the brain capillaries too. 

Gyan Mudra is known as a prime mudra in all finger mudras. It is known as a vayu-vardhak mudra. But still it can be replaced with dhyan mudra because it stimulates the brain power to improve concerntation and stop insomnia.
