Maharashtra HSC Result

Admissions towards the NITs from buy could be based entirely on Maharashtra HSC Result 2016, that has a government-appointed panel prone to recommend scrapping of weightage fond of marks obtained in board examinations.

“We could well be recommending scrapping of weightages provided to board marks,” Director of IIT Bombay plus a member on the panel, Devang Khakhar, says.

A sound decision on the issue could come early later when HRD Minister Smriti Irani chairs a session of the NIT council, which will take a call for the committee’s recommendations.

As per the previous policy, 40 % weightage is fond of board marks and 60 per cent on the JEE-Main score for admission to a National Institute of Technolgy (NITs).

Official sources said the committee took into mind several factors while choosing its recommendations that included delays witnessed this current year in the common counselling for admissions to your IITs and NITs.

CBSE had neglected to publish the PSEB.ac.in result ranking list promptly for the counselling and blamed it around the delay with the state boards in submitting class XII marks. The ranks are decided after giving weightage to your class XII results.

The delay stood a cascading effect that led on the postponement of admissions for the IITs, causing anxiety among students and parents.

A committee member said the reform inside JEE exams introduced with the erstwhile UPA government by providing weightage for the board results had did not achieve the goals and objectives.

“It was felt which the reform would put an end on the menace of education, but for the contrary, more students went for coaching to increase their scores in board exams.

“Besides, attracting increased variety of rural students in the premier technical institutes met with little success because admission (rural:urban) ratio over the past three years remained practically unchanged at 30:70,” he explained.

While recommending scrapping from the weightage system, the panel is prone to suggest securing 60 percent marks or 70 percentile at school XII, whichever is less, to be a criteria for eligibility of any candidate to appear to the examination conducted for admissions to your premier technical institutes.
